Cousin Fishing Trip

I’m really looking forward to the next 10 days. Yep, that’s right, it’s time for another family fishing trip!

Tomorrow, Phil and I are headed up to the cottage to fish on Friday.   On Saturday I have a tournament. And then Saturday afternoon, more of my extended family arrives from Evansville, Indiana.   And we’ll have almost a week of catching largemouth/smallmouth bass and probably some nice northern pike!

Phil (aka Fuzzy) and Jackson Peach are pulling their boat up north from Evansville. Gene and Bill Bennett are coming with them.  The last time we made this happen was in 2013.   It’s been too long since then!

The plans for the week are to fish, relax, fish, enjoy adult beverages, fish, enjoy evening campfires, fish,….etc.

Usually we fish two to three lakes a day.   I try to have one new lake to fish each day so that no one gets bored fishing the same lakes as previous years.   Of course, if people want to fish a lake they’ve fished before, we can do that as well.

We always stop at a local establishment for lunch.   Often times these eateries are on the water of the lake we’re fishing. It’s a great way to make sure you don’t get “sea legs”, can relax a bit, and can share some stories.   And there are some whopper stories shared.

In the evening, we head back to the cottage, taking turns cooking dinner, enjoying time on the pontoon boat or having a campfire. That’s where the BS’in really flows!

Stay tuned for more updates and pictures starting on Saturday, May 30th.

It always goes faster than I want, but I’m thankful for the time we have together!
